Frequently Asked Questions - Paying for reservations

Spire is owned and operated by Perfect Escapes, a luxury travel company headquartered in San Francisco, with offices in London, New York, and Chicago. Spire’s London-based sister company, Travel Intelligence, operates the Starfish booking engine that powers Spire (in addition to other luxury travel sites).

A: Spire makes every effort to keep all your personal information secure. We only allow your credit card number to be transmitted to us over the Internet if your browser supports Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. Once received by the Spire secure server, your credit card number is never transmitted over the Internet again.

Spire deals typically include the cost of your room, plus Spire Perks, truly valuable items like upgrades, spa credits, and other free extras that help create the perfect trip. Our editors evaluate every perk: If it doesn’t represent a significant value, we won’t promote it – period.

Taxes, fees, and gratuities generally are not included Spire deal rates. Unless an offer explicitly states that taxes, fees, and/or gratuities are included in the listed price, you should assume that these will be your responsibility during your stay. Also, unless explicitly stated otherwise, charges for services such as parking, resort fees, and other incidental expenses also are not included in the deal price.

When you make a reservation through Spire, you will need to provide your credit card number to confirm your reservation; your card will be charged immediately for the entire length of your stay.

Unlike limited-time deals on other travel sites, Spire lets you change or cancel your plans, subject to a few simple terms and conditions. (Occasionally, a hotel requires a 100% nonrefundable deposit; these exceptions will be clearly marked on the Spire site.) Please contact our luxury travel specialists for assistance.
