BEWARE: The Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa in Cape Town

Don't Believe the Hype! Sometimes the gorgeous photos you see on Websites and in magazines are misleading and many properties receive undeserved praise in the press. By giving you honest feedback from our personal experience, or that of someone we know and trust, the Beware files help you steer clear of disappointment and wasted time and money.

The only two things I have to say positive about this over-hyped property are: fantastically situated with 180 degree sea views and their restaurant “Azure" is a smart looking navy and crème tailored affair. The rest leaves little to be desired. Feels like a small conference hotel with hoards of people, tacky décor and fittings (e.g., metal plates lining the steps) and elevator music streaming throughout. The property of 70 rooms has the feeling of Motel 6 meets a wannabe chic sister. Steer clear despite glowing reviews in magazines and other websites.
