Wardrobes out of control, filing cabinets overflowing, and floors piled with papers? It's time to call a professional organizer ...
Practical Princess
London-based; occasionally in Los Angeles
Founder Elika Gibbs and her super-efficient team at Practical Princess will tackle everything in your closet (and I mean everything) from clothes and shoes to belts, bags and bracelets and anything else that's been pushed, prodded and poked into the darkest recesses. After she got her hands on my over-stuffed wardrobe and drawers, I felt like I'd stepped into a deliciously stylish boutique—everything was color-coded, seasonally sorted and user-friendly. Elika even left me with a couple of spare shelves for future purchases … love it! If you're a constant traveler and shoes are your passion, her service will photograph each pair and keep track of them in a database, so you can check whether your favorite Manolos and Tods are in London, New York or Los Angeles.

Garde Robe
New York City
Calling Carrie Bradshaw! If you live in New York, chances are your closets are full to bursting, but there's a more stylish option to dim, dusty storage centers. Garde Robe is like having a walk-in closet with endless space and an on-call valet. Its staff will collect your rarely-used or seasonal clothes, shoes, bags and any other accessories, have them professionally cleaned, and then store them in a secure, loft-like wardrobe facility that's custom-designed for climate control and air purity. Clients have access to their belongings through a personalized online “cyber closet,” which has a detailed pictorial inventory of each item, and can request that certain pieces be delivered back home at any time. In addition, the innovative service can help you organize and categorize your closets, and, if you're really looking to downsize, its staff will sell your unwanted clothes by consignment on ebay. Garde Robe is ideal for frequent travelers to the Big Apple who don't want to carry heavy luggage each trip; just leave your things with them and they'll deliver it to your hotel the next time you're in town. They can arrange a seamstress or tailor for alterations, and can even send someone to unpack and pack for you. For a full overhaul, they can also set you up with an image consultant and a hair and make-up artist. It may not be Narnia, but that's some magical wardrobe!

Total Wardrobe Care
London
Hands up anyone who has a clothes addiction? Guilty as charged… Fortunately, there's help at hand. Julia Dee's Total Wardrobe Care offers, a “Wardrobe Rehab,” to help you de-clutter your closet. Any out of season numbers (like ski suits, winter coats or floaty summer dresses) are whisked off to her storage houses—so you don't even have to find somewhere to keep them. There they are individually packaged in moth-proof, breathable garment bags and kept in a 2,500 square-foot, temperature controlled, lavender-scented warehouse. Don't fret about security, not even the fashion police could find an entry point here; the warehouse uses a new super-secure fingerprint recognition entry system. Only the wardrobe mistresses will have access to your rail—and you, of course, if you suddenly have a yearning for something that's been packed away. Julia will also organize for any dry cleaning and repairing, as well as selling unwanted items on e-bay for you. So, why entrust your clothes to her? After studying at art college, Julia set up her own couture company and worked at both Harrods and Harvey Nicols before creating Designer Alterations, a haute couture alteration service. Let's just say that Valentino, Dior and Stella McCartney are fans, to name a few. Perhaps the latter was impressed by Dee's natural moth repellant—she's a moth's nemesis, with effective traps and scented sachets and drawer liners to make sure that the little pests don't go munching through you're favorite cashmere.
