Lech, Austria: My Insider Tips
An at-a-glance guide to enjoy the best of Lech

After exploring the Lech, Zurs and Zug, I thought I would share my tips on how to make the most of your time in the Arlberg.
Travel: If you are not being picked up at the airport, call on: Arlberg Exclusive VIP Chauffer Service
Dining: Many restaurants are closed on Mondays. The places I recommend tend to get booked, so do reserve as soon as you have your dates or ask the concierge at your hotel to do so for you.
Be aware: Avalanches do occur in Zurs. Consult your hotel each morning to advise what trails are closed due to possible danger.
Shopping: There are many cute, pretty shops outfitted with all one could ever want to buy while at a ski resort. Don't miss the very special four–level “Strolz” shop in the middle of Lech town—a memorable shopping experience. I love the first floor champagne and pastry bar.
Tips for parents: A great local babysitting service is Googie's. Ring them: 0699 112 62626. There are also many “kinderclubs,” just inquire at your hotel.
Must do's: A glass of wine or cappuccino by the open fireplace, and scattered books in the ‘Licca Lounge' at the Aurelio Lech hotel—whether you are staying there or not. Additionally, a day pass to their extraordinarily beautiful and well-equipped spa for €60 is a steal and worth every penny. Similarly, visit the sundeck on the left side of Hotel Kristiania Lech for lounging in the sun under a woolen blanket with a glass of traditional gluvine (mulled wine). Definitely the best feature of this over–rated hotel (outside of the fabulous artwork throughout). Edelweiss in Zurs has just the right amount of night "scene" for me at a ski resort. There is a very nice bar, where after you grab a drink, you head downstairs to Zuerserl, the best club in the area.
