Singita Sweni Lodge, An Intimate Safari Retreat in the South African Wilderness

The fabulous General Manager at Singita Lembobo Lodge arranged dinner for us at their neighboring boutique property, Singita Sweni Lodge, during our stay. Also gorgeously situated in the heart of Kruger National Park in South Africa, Sweni is a smaller, intimate spot with just six suites each with floor-to-ceiling glass walls, indoor and outdoor showers and private wooden decks with day bed.

 

Space is the name of the game here. Rooms and communal areas are open plan with the bathrooms as extensions of the bedrooms. The designer used the surroundings as inspiration; the various shades of the bush are captured in the décor. The bar/lounge area is sexy and chic; you are literally under the stars as it is all indoor/outdoor melding one to the other. The pool is small with cushioned chaises, a perfect spot to read and siesta. This is a couples place who like small, quiet properties. Guests can of course enjoy the Lebombo facilities as they like and should surely experience the difference between these two fabulous South African safari lodges.
